2022 marks our 17th anniversary and we are very proud to have been awarded the highest surf school rating ‘Centre of Excellence’. The award recognises the highest level of coaching, equipment and facilities.
Waves are rare in Falmouth due to it’s sheltered location, Maenporth and Gyllyngvase beaches are the two surfing locations in the town, however both beaches rarely have waves during the summertime and only have surf during our storm season between December – March.
The nearest surfing beaches from Falmouth are Gwithian Towans on the north coast or Praa Sands on the south coast, both of which are 20-30 minutes drive from the town centre. We have Watersports Centres at both locations offering surf, SUP and Coasteering lessons along with hire.
We pride ourselves on small beginner and improver surf lessons with unbeatable coach to student ratios. The average surf lesson ratio is 1:4 with the maximum being 1:8. This guarantees each of our customers more 1-to-1 coaching. The 2-hour surf lessons will be staggered throughout the day, therefore minimising the number of people using the facilities and reducing the crowds in the surf.
The 2-hour private surf lesson packages are aimed at beginner to improver surfers looking to increase the speed of their learning curve, this is achieved by being able to create an environment that is tailored towards a surfers specific needs. We are proud to have a 95% success rate on getting you to your feet on your first lesson with no minimum or maximum age. Whether it’s helping your child stand for first time or you coach filming the session and running through video analysis afterwards, we will personalise every lesson to suit those in the group.

We run daily Coasteering Adventures just 30-45 minutes from Falmouth at Mousehole and Praa Sands. Ignite your adrenaline and enjoy the fastest growing outdoor activity in the UK. Your instructor will guide you along one of Cornwall’s most spectacular stretches of coastline, during your 2 hour lesson you will experience cliff jumping, belly-flopping, climbing, bouldering, exploring caves and you may even get to play with one of the friendly local seals.
We have a great range of quality surf equipment available from our beach bases at Gwithian and Praa Sands.
Can’t get to us, then we’ll deliver direct to you, whether you are staying on a campsite, in self catering accommodation or in a hotel. Our door to door service makes life easier for you and gives maximum flexibility to take the equipment to the beaches you fancy at the times you want. Avoid inflated beach prices, wasted time in queues and guarantee that you’ll get the equipment suitable for you.
We will be following strict government guidelines to ensure all equipment is thoroughly cleaned after each use, please respect social distancing on arrival and we appreciate your patience during busy times.
If you are hiring for 2 days then we’ll add a 10% discount to your package and for any surf hire for 3 days or more you will receive a 20% discount.
If you’re after something a bit slower paced than surfing, why not give stand up paddleboarding a go? When the water’s a bit calmer, we can guide you out toward the neighbouring secret coves of Rinsey and Kenneggy where you can really feel the tranquillity of the ocean. The paddle gives you much more control over the board than surfing does, and when you’re ready to come in, you can let the waves draw you back to shore at a much gentler pace.

"Had a lesson with Alfie this afternoon , for myself my dad and my daughter , we are all beginners and he was excellent with us .
Knowledgeable and fun would highly recommend this surf school to anybody in the area.
For the price everything is provided for you and it’s a 2hr lesson , incredibly good value for money. All of the staff were friendly and at no point do you feel silly or uncomfortable.
Hopefully be back soon!"
