FAQs

Do we have to book in advance?

We are very busy from Easter through to November, therefore always advise to book early to avoid disappointment, especially if you are making a surf vacation booking and require accommodation.

How do I book more than 1 surf lesson?

When booking a surf package with us, the power is in your hands and we aim to be as flexible as possible.

To make a booking, simply select the type of lesson you’d like (open group or private) and the total number of lessons, then you’ll be asked to schedule the date and time of your first lesson. Once you complete the booking form with details of those taking part and make the payment, you’ll then receive an email confirmation with a link and temporary password to access the booking online. This will allow you to schedule the remaining lessons for the times and dates of your choosing, subject to availability at the time.

What will we need?

We will always supply you with top quality wetsuits and surfboards. However, if you have your own wetsuit then please feel free to bring it with you. Apart from that all you need is swimwear, towel, sunscreen, a drink and warm clothing (especially during the cooler months).

If you’re coming coasteering with us, you’ll need to bring the following:

  • Swimwear.
  • Towel.
  • Old pair of trainers/wetsuit shoes.
  • Swimming short to go over the wetsuit. (Optional)
  • Sunscreen.
  • Debit / Credit card or a small amount of cash to buy a snack, drink or lunch at the beach cafe / parking charges.
  • Prescribed Medication (Asthma pump, EpiPen etc).

How long is a surf lesson/coasteering adventure?

All of our sessions last for 2 hours, but taking into account changing time and walking to and from the beach, the total time from arrival to departure can be anywhere up to 3 hours.

How many surf lessons will I need?

In our eyes surfing is the most fun sport around, however, as exhilarating as it is, it can also be very exhausting. We are very good at what we do and will get you to your feet in no time, therefore we suggest at least 2 lessons if you want to learn how to surf. You can then choose to have more lessons to develop your surfing further if you wish.

What beach will our lesson be on?

As a mobile surf school, we have the ability to choose up to 10 different locations to guarantee the best surfing conditions for you on the day of your lesson. We will not make this decision until 1-2 days prior to your lesson and will contact you directly to confirm the beach and meeting place along with any directions you may need.

Any surfing bookings placed less than 24 hours before the session start time will be automatically allocated to Gwithian Beach TR275BT.

All coasteering sessions will take place from Praa Sands TR209TG. You can find us in the large beach car park that has a green army truck parked in the corner, and a building with scaffolding and white sheet surrounding it, where your guide will be waiting by our branded vans to greet you.

What about changing facilities?

Taking into account we are a mobile surf school allowing you to surf the best conditions on the day, we don’t have any fixed changing facilities. However we do setup a panelled gazebo for changing under and the majority of beaches we use have clean undercover toilets to change in.
