We used Global Boarders whilst on location in Cornwall shooting Channel 4’s “A Place by the Sea”. They were quick to respond to our short notice request, with professional and keen surf instructors. We were impressed with their low student to instructor ratio, which proved highly productive for our filming and also for our student’s progression. This professional and friendly approach helped both parties achieve a great deal over the duration of 1 lesson.
In our experience Global Boarders have got it sorted. Highly recommended!

Even the train journey was relaxing. Pulling out of Paddington, the five hours by rail to Penzance, watching the coast and sea ease by, was the perfect way to get in the mood for what was to prove the perfect surf experience.

After being picked up by Chris, our instructor, we hit the waves immediately, washing away the stresses of the capital after first being given the basics on the beach about how to get to our feet. By the end of the first session, we were standing on the boards in white water – admittedly, with no marks for style, but a massive buzz just from the feeling of being carried along by the power of the sea.
By the time I left for the train home, I can’t pretend to have achieved major skill on the board. But I could stand up. And most of all, I enjoyed it immensely. Nice people, brilliant scenery, fantastic waves and all very relaxed. I can’t think of a better way to spend a holiday.

I had a fantastic time, I’ve not had surf lessons for a few years but I doubt any other surf school comes close in both the quality of the teaching and also the personal attention you guys give to helping people improve the groups surf skills. If I hear of anyone wishing to learn I shall definitely push him or her in your direction.

Surfing had been on my to-do list for a while and I can’t think of a better introduction to the sport than the one I got from Global Boarders. The instructors really know their weather and their waves, which means you’re guaranteed to find the best surf in Cornwall on any given day. And their enthusiasm is infectious. The accommodation they offer is also second to none – I stayed in a four-star converted barn just outside of the tiny fishing village of Mousehole and didn’t want to leave. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a pro, excited or scared stiff – they’ll coach to all levels and abilities and you’ll feel safe. I was hooked instantly and my next trip will definitely be with Global Boarders – they really go the extra eco-friendly mile to ensure you have the best experience possible.

Global Boarders runs its West Cornwall-based surf school rather like a good British ski school in the Alps; small classes, lots of intensive tuition, and very comfortable accommodation. Our instructor Chris gave us the right level of help and encouragement so we never felt patronised. The teaching style is perfect for creaky learners like myself who are the wrong side of 40!

Global Boarders looked after my group really well and were really flexible. The accommodation and setting were stunning and the teaching was consistent and fun – all in all a really enjoyable experience. See you next year!

This was, for me, the perfect surf weekend. From the moment we were picked up at Penzance train station, everything was laid on and arranged for us. We were surfing at within an hour of arrival, the tuition – in small groups – was brilliant and the instructors drove around to find the best waves in the area. In three days, I learned more than I had in three years of surfing. Raginnis Barn is a lovely place to stay and everyone at Global Boarders could not have been friendlier.

Once again Global Boarders came in on time, on budget and provided an excellent 3 day break for Moet Hennessy’s staff and incentive winners. Everything was pre-prepared, efficiently dealt with and fulfilled with a smile – we had nothing to worry about. The surf tuition, accommodation and evening entertainments were all top notch – and the DVD was a great memento. This surf break is the most requested incentive we run and sales improved by 33%. Everyone went home relaxed, happy and sunburned!
